This article is meant to provide an explanation for the Resend Feature. This feature is located within the video visit user interface and is available for providers and admin user types.
With the Resend feature, providers and administrative staff can select the resend button within the video visit to send an SMS and email notification to a patient who has not yet joined the session.
With this feature, providers and staff no longer need to look up a patient's SMS number and/or email to send an additional invite. If a patient has forgotten about their appointment or lost track of time, a quick click on the Resend button can quickly remind the patient and get them in the visit with no time wasted.
There are a couple of differences between the Resend feature and the Invite Attendees functionality:
1. The Invite Attendees function can send an invite to whatever SMS number or email address that is typed into the field. This is useful if, for example, a patient's device is not working properly and they need to use another phone number. The Resend feature can only send appointment notifications to users who were scheduled for the specific session.
2. The Resend Feature can only be used once in a five-minute span. The button will not be able to be pressed until after those five minutes have passed. The Invite Attendees functionality does not have a time limit.
